In physical appearance, these animals are completely black in color. This nature is hinted in their naming. They also posses average muscle body with sound legs. Better still, it is normal to occasionally find a red calf among these black animals.

For mutual gain and support, farmers keeping this breed have united to form an association. This is well established and takes in new members as long as they are legible. To be legible, one must have verified all cattle genetically as Irish black. It is a nonprofit making body that works for the interest of their members wherever they are.

Rearing any breed of cattle come with certain benefits. For these ones, it is more than a benefit. Farmers gain far much beyond expectation. This similar experience trickles down to consumers who enjoy products generated by industrious farmers. Pure breeding and hence good livestock quality is the main advantage found in these cattle. They therefore yield to the expectation of individuals keeping them.

Rearing animals like the ones in question is no longer a source of stress to farmers. Presently, these cattle can be found in all lands of America whether in low or highlands. One of its features that enable it to thrive well is because it can adequately resist some come diseases as brisket disease. Secondly, its gestation period is shortest of all beef producing species. As a result of short gestation time, one does not have to wait too long to get calves. Third and not last in the long list is high fertility rate. For instance, a single bull may be adequate to serve up to 140 cows. Because of its flexibility and ability to withstand varying climatic conditions, health care cost of this animal is not out of proportion. All one needs to do is provide usual regular procedures as De-worming and tick control among others.

In summary, it is rewarding to keep this animal. Production is high per cattle reared, feeding animals is simple and vital information needed by clients is readily made available.
