Is It Possible For Extra Virgin Olive Oil To Increase Fertility?

By Katie Onson

If you want to talk about nutritional culinary products, attention should be drawn to extra virgin olive oil. With its antioxidants and essential vitamins alike, it's easy to see that an item like this can provide more than its fair share of benefits for overall health. With that said, would you have ever imagined that this could aid in the boosting of one's fertility rate? For those who are curious as to what this entails, a recent study may be worth looking into.

According to an article on Daily Mail, extra virgin olive oil may very well be the most effective product in a "fertility diet." Basically, the diet consisted of the oil in question, an oil-based spread, and a daily supplement drink complete with vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids. Each of these products were used in the diets of 100 couples being studied on. It's an interesting topic and it's one that should grab the attention of various authorities, Unaprol included.

The team at the University of Southampton said that, if successful, this diet could bolster fertility rates as high as 40 percent. To say that this is a strong talking point would be an understatement, especially when given the fact that certain activities can lower fertility rates in otherwise healthy couples. Steroid usage and bodily infections alike can create these sorts of problems. However, it's just as easy to assume that the continuation of positive activities can help to keep this very rate up.

Along with the aforementioned diet, provided the study goes according to hypothesis, there are other ways in which fertility can be increased amongst couples. For example, exercise can be taken up more often, as weight gain seems to have a negative impact on birth, in addition to events related to it. In addition, reducing the amount of coffee and alcohol consumed can help matters. Switch to water, and stick with it, in order to keep fertility high.

No one can argue with the benefits that come from taking in extra virgin olive oil. After all, a product like this is one of the most helpful, from a dietary standpoint, and I am sure that others would be able to attest to this. However, I am sure that most would not have assumed the increase of fertility rates would have been present. It's important to keep this in mind so that the next time you go shopping, you'll understand the benefits of this product even further.
