Organic Beef And Pork Makes Meals More Balanced

By Anna Patterson

Anyone who has taken meal advice from someone claiming to be an expert will find themselves with information that may be contradictory. This is not to say that scientific findings are incorrect but the question is how closely should one follow since a balanced diet is best for most. It is not only nutritionally sound but when portioned correctly a person will have energy. Protein is a good source of energy and can be found in many organic beef and pork products that have not been processed or is without added growth hormones.

While this may seem surprising to some, this is due to the amount of grass this livestock consumes, in addition to minimal processing. Some say this is also what makes it a more flavorful entree, even though it is often smaller in size than most natural meats. For those who have made the switch to natural foods, many say that the slight difference in price is worth the quality.

Another way to ensure that a person is getting enough of the right foods is to look up the serving sizes and measure the nutritional information. If the goal is to lose weight, then add the average caloric intake and use this as a guide when figuring out how to lose the excess. Some fitness trackers can give an estimate of how much is being burned on an average day.

Anyone looking to cut calories should also take a look at how the meat is being prepared. It is common to use seasoning blends that save time but sometimes these can be high in sodium. For anyone with a sense of adventure, an alternative solution would be to mix a blend of crushed, freshly dried herbs and add a little garlic salt.

Some complain that this type of meat is not as juicy when cooked but there is an alternative to using a sauce. Cooking on lower heat takes a little longer but it does allow for even cooking. On average, broiling or baking with medium heat or just covering meat in foil also prevents charring.

Outdoor cooking should be done under low flames or temperatures. One alternative would be to bake or boil meat until slightly firm and finish on the grill for smoky flavor. Anyone who is uncertain about cooking this type of meat should look at recipes or online cooking tutorials.

While cutting back on gravy or heavy sauce is beneficial, there are some reasonable alternates. One would be to soak meat in a low sodium marinade overnight. A rub may be just as effective but some contain a lot of salt or sugar so making a homemade version is a good idea. Topping meat with sauteed or lightly grilled vegetables are solutions to counter dryness.

While most natural or organic meat sold is fairly lean, it helps to take an extra step to trim any visible fat that may remain alongside. Sometimes, people like to keep it so that it will prevent meat from drying during cooking. However, it helps to remember alternatives like virgin olive oil or another type that can withstand high heat.
